Key Tasks

  • To assist in the preparation, analysis and management of all sub-contract, RFQ’s and Contracts.
  • Analyse quotations obtained from Suppliers and ensure they are cost effective prior to onboarding.
  • Own & Maintain sub-contract, Plant and Material rate cards to provide price comparisons and ensure market rate.
  • Identify and research potential new suppliers along with Business requirements
  • Assist the Pricing manager with identification and supply of tender costs/RFQ to Client for Sub Contractors, Material and Plant.
  • Assist the Procurement/Commercial Manager with Supply chain activities including the maintenance of spreadsheets and  databases as required.
  • Assist the Pricing manager and Quantity Surveyors to identify future requirements and competitive pricing.
  • Ensure regular communications and development of Supplier relationships, building trust as guided by the Procurement/Commercial Manager
  • To place Purchase Orders and assist with the goods returns process as required.
  • Engage with project teams to drive procurement processes to maintain timescales.
  • Assist in tender/RFQ returns from Sub Contractors: Evaluation and Negotiation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in a junior buyer or procurement role.
  • Previous experience in negotiations and networking
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, written and verbal
  • Advanced Excel & Word Skills
  • Highly numerate
  • Organised, Confident and Resourceful
  • Understanding of supply chain management procedures and Bonafide Sub Contractors
  • Ideally have an understanding of the Telecomms industry.
  • Ideally have previous experience of working in a pre-sales team, responding to RFQ requests
