International Women’s Day

Celebrated on March 8 every year, International Women`s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of the achievements of women in every profession, whilst also increasing visibility and calling out inequality.

IWD grew out of the labour movement to become a recognised annual event by the United Nations and it was first celebrated in 1911, in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. This year we’re celebrating the 110th International Women’s Day. This year’s theme is #ChooseToChallenge with the idea that a challenged world is an alert world and individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions.

At IRIS we believe that people are our strongest asset and it is only with the determination and dedication of our people that we can generate long-term value for our customers. Not only do we celebrate women’s achievements and ensure gender parity at IRIS, but we actively strive to make a difference in supporting and creating professional development opportunities for our employees pursuing careers in the telecoms sector.

Please join us in recognizing the contribution of Women to the success of IRIS! Each year, International Women’s Day events are held worldwide, however due to the pandemic this year most of the events are expected to take place virtually.
