Rigging Engineer

Location: Nationwide

The Rigging Team has the responsibility to manage/organise and deliver a full end to end Rigging Installation while supervising his team in regards to H&S and quality being paramount.

Key Tasks

• Steel erection and minor structural works/Headframe swaps etc.
• Antenna Installation, Alignment and RET configuration/Calibration.
• Experienced in Different rope set ups and ability to adapt to difficult lifts.
• Demonstrate knowledge in feeder terminations/ Installation of all type such as CommScope , RFS and Rosenberger.
• Installation of RRH at antenna height and also at Ground level.
• Installation of Combiner / Diplexer/Triplexer RF antenna lines.
• Installation of Active/mMIMO antennas.
• Understanding and provision of handover documentation within SLA.
• Excellent understanding of R/A on site and the importance of purveying to all team members.
• Experience in the use of RF and PIM testing and fault finding exercises.
• Good understanding of all required Pre and Posts RF tests required.
• Fibre testing – Scope testing and Insertion testing.
• Handing of Hybrid fibre trunks and associated fibre/DC tails of both SM and MM fibre.
• Understanding of Detailed designs and technical drawings.
• Ability to receive documentation from all parties and purvey to your team members especially if H&S related.
• Excellent knowledge and adherence to H&S of your team and for on site activities.
• Awareness of current specifications from the customer and within IRIS.
• Ability to work and support other teams where required and support online sharing of information between teams.
• Work to a detailed design and deliver the installation to a very high standard and within dedicated timescales.
• Be able to delegate tasks to team members and unsure that tasks are carried out to the highest standard.
• Responsible for Housekeeping element within the team vehicle and keep spares available/Replenished when required.
• To mentor and support team members and help with their progression.
• Permit utilisation and efficiency from a day today basis.
• Must be able to represent IRIS and adhere to its code of conduct at all times when on site and when involved with the general public.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping at all times when on site.
• To be able to manage all the teams Certification (PPE & Loler) and make it available at all times if audited by IRIS or 3rd party auditors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Essential – All WAH Prerequisites: Mats Climbing and Rescue , RF , Emergency First Aid , Rooftop , Lifting and Lowering.

• Connector Training
• Pasma
• IPAF
• Climbing Medical
• Abrasive Wheels
• Excellent people management and People skills.
• Transmission/Microwave experience would be beneficial but not a prerequisite.
• Excellent IT skills
• Experience in Working at Height on various Structure types.
• Good Knowledge of all networks/Operators/Technologies
• Extensive knowledge of Antenna systems and port Configurations.
• Good understanding of all Tagging Identifications for all Techs.
